Generative AI Use and Its Effects on Leadership Readiness Among Emerging Professionals

Working with Dr. Jeffrey Bohler on a two-phase mixed-methods study examining the relationship between natural GenAI use and leadership readiness among emerging professionals. Phase 1 examines GenAI-use patterns and baseline leadership readiness, while Phase 2 tests whether a four-week structured-reflection intervention improves leadership readiness among regular GenAI users.

How are GenAI-use frequency, purpose, reflective engagement, and passive/dependent use associated with motivational, cognitive, and behavioral-interpersonal leadership readiness?

Study design: Two-phase mixed-methods study using baseline comparisons, pretest-posttest measures, weekly AI-use logs, scenario-based responses, and qualitative reflections.

Exploratory Applied Research

EQPitch Research Project

EQPitch is an exploratory AI-supported research project and applied research platform examining how realistic scenarios, guided reflection, and practical activities may strengthen emotional intelligence, communication, reflective judgment, and leadership-related skills among emerging professionals.

Scenario-based learningEmotional-intelligence developmentGuided reflectionHuman-AI interactionCommunication and leadership skillsResponsible AI-supported feedbackProfessional readiness

EQPitch explores whether people can meaningfully practice human capabilities such as empathy, self-awareness, self-regulation, communication, confidence, and reflective decision-making through structured scenarios and guided activities.

EQPitch is an exploratory educational and research project. It is not a psychological assessment, diagnostic instrument, or substitute for therapy.

Research agenda

Questions I want to pursue next.

01

Human Capability Under AI Augmentation

Under what conditions does GenAI improve employee learning, judgment, and performance, and when does reliance on it weaken independent problem-solving?

02

Human Factors in Algorithmic Decision-Making

How do emotional intelligence and reflective capacity influence reliance on AI recommendations when algorithmic advice conflicts with ethical, social, or contextual cues?

03

AI Assistance and Transparency

How does disclosing the use of AI assistance influence perceptions of competence, authenticity, trust, and fairness?

04

Reflection as a Design Intervention

Which prompts and system features can preserve human agency while improving responsible AI use, decision quality, and organizational performance?
